• Mr. Tan has been tutoring my son since Primary 3 for Mathematics and Science. He is a student of Nanyang Primary School. Over his tenure as my son’s tutor, he has marked improvement in his understanding of the two subjects. For Mathematics, his weakness in fractions and problem-sums solving has been identified by Mr. Tan and has been addressed accordingly. He has now become proficient in fractions and has more confidence in “Section C- Problem Sums Solving” questions. For Science, my son as advised by Mr. Tan has started writing topical notes to improve on his weakness in answering “Section C- Structured questions”. This has helped a lot in his learning of the various science topics and the appropriate usage of words to answer structured questions. Over the 2 years of Mr. Tan’s tutoring, my son has appeared to be more passionate about learning the 2 subjects. The results of his tutoring are clearly reflected by his results academically especially when he topped his class for the first time in Mathematics for his Primary 5 SA1. Mr. Tan’s efforts in grooming my son into a better learner for both subjects is evident especially in pre-examinations period, when he would often voluntarily stay back in order to prepare my son well for his examinations. His creativity and versatility is recommendable by using fun-filled and effective worksheets to make lessons more purposeful and enriching at the same time.
